White appeared Tuesday in Franklin Municipal Court, where Judge Rupert Ruppert said a witness scheduled to testify was in the hospital and unable to attend.

The preliminary hearing was rescheduled to Sept. 12. White remains housed in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.

White grabbed a kitchen knife and came toward Nicole Checkawitz, 39, on Aug. 27, while she and Hall were renovating her home on Rooks Lane in Franklin, she said.

Hall stepped between them and tried to stop the argument, according to Checkawitz. White stabbed Hall to death in the kitchen, according to police.

Terry Hall Jr., 52, of Franklin, was stabbed to death in late August when he stepped between a woman and her attacker, a witness said.
