The project would be anchored by a new TriHealth ambulatory care center on approximately 33 acres at 8000 Liberty Way.
Already recommended for conditional approval Sept. 13 by the Butler County Planning Commission, the matter was set to go before Liberty Township Zoning Commission in October, but was postponed prior to the meeting at the request of Miller Valentine to allow more time for a traffic impact study, according to Caroline McKinney, the township’s spokeswoman.
The matter was rescheduled for November, but was again postponed at Miller Valentine’s request, McKinney said.
Now scheduled for the commission’s Dec. 19 meeting, its proximity to the holidays led several residents to approach Liberty Twp. trustees last week to see if they could have any influence on the scheduled date for the matter.
Township officials told residents the commission’s December meeting date was pre-set and that the applicant has the right to continue with the matter at the commission’s regularly scheduled hearing.
Township officials also told the residents the issues they sought to address are appropriate for the public hearing and those who are away when the hearing is held may write a letter to the commission via the township’s administration building address.
In addition, residents were made aware that the zoning commission makes a recommendation, while trustees ultimately get final say in the matter afterward by approving or denying the request for the zoning change.
“There’s two opportunities ahead (to provide comment),” McKinney said, referring to both the commission meeting and the yet-to-be-scheduled trustee meeting.
Residents who wish to comment on the proposed development but cannot make the Dec. 19 meeting should mail comments to: 7162 Liberty Centre Drive, Suite A, Liberty Twp., OH 45069.
