Orr said the district “placed a teacher at Garfield Middle School on paid administrative leave until further notice. We are working collaboratively with the Hamilton Police Department to review the teacher’s conduct.”
“The administrative leave began on Monday,” said Orr, who declined to identify the teacher or the teacher’s gender.
The school district declined to provide any further information Friday.
According to the Oct. 23 police report obtained by this news outlet, the investigation involves possible sexual imposition.
“Victims advise over the last several weeks the suspect had touched them in ways on their body that made them feel uncomfortable,” an officer wrote in the report.
Sgt. Brian Robinson said detectives are investigating to determine if accusations from the students are “valid or criminal in nature.”
Robinson said the school recourse officer — on the campus at 250 N. Fair Ave. — was contacted by district administrators and the investigation was opened.
Robinson declined to give any further details about the allegations.
This investigation into a teacher’s misbehavior is the third such incident reported by a Butler County school system this week.
A Middletown High School teacher, who has not been named because no charges have been filed, is under investigation by police.
The teacher resigned earlier this week from Middletown Schools.
And on Thursday, a Fairfield High School guidance counselor and girls sports coach — Craig Harden — was in court facing two charges of sexual battery involving a female student.
