A Hamilton man is facing six felony charges for allegedly lighting a series of fires during the summer.

James Agee, 35, of the 600 block of North D Street, was indicted Wednesday by a Butler County grand jury on four counts of arson, a fourth-degree felony, and and two counts of aggravated arson, a second-degree felony.

Agee is accused of setting fires in the neighborhood where he lives on May 2, May 8, June 20, July 7, July 13 and July 20, according to the indictment.

Trevor Snider, Hamilton fire investigator, said some of the fires caused damage to homes, but there were no injuries. All of the fires were set outside during night time hours, he said.

In July, Agee was arrested for arson after setting fire to a couch in an alley on Prytania Avenue. That case was bound over to a grand jury.

Snider said further investigation tied Agee to the other fires.

The case has been assigned to Butler County Common Pleas Judge Jennifer McElfresh. Arraignment is set for Oct. 12.
