Here are five of the more disturbing things noted in an inspector’s report, which led the state to temporarily suspended the crematory’s license:
- Seven deceased bodies that had not yet been embalmed were stored in non-working refrigerators. The walk-in and three-person coolers were not working properly.
- There were dead flies on the floor and lives ones flying in the room.
- One body had mold on its face and neck and the face of another body was beginning to mummify.
- Another body had "severe decomposition" and multiple maggots living in it.
- There was an odor of decomposition around the facility. The investigator noted two car fresheners were hanging from the ceiling.
