Oxford police arrested a toddler’s caregivers Saturday after the boy was found wandering the streets alone, wearing only a wet diaper.

The boy, who is approximately two 2 years old, was found about 9 a.m. on Beechpoint Drive in Oxford Twp.’s Springwood subdivision, according to Police Chief Michael Goins.

Bill A. Irvine and Keisha D. Janes, both 22, asleep in a van in the same subdivision Saturday afternoon, were arrested and being detained on child endangering charges, Goins said.

Irvine and Janes remained in jail Sunday afternoon, each in lieu of $1,150 bail, according to jail logs.

Both suspects were in transit, for the most part, and were at some point staying at a motel in Hamilton, Goins said Sunday.

County children services has returned the toddler to his biological mother, he said.
