Sundin was discovered in July by Warren County authorities through a DNA test after his arrest in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Sundin was charged in a sealed indictment on Feb. 27 because he had not been arrested.

The case dates back to July 2000 when a nurse at Brookside Extended Care Center in Mason found blood in the diaper of a “severely developmentally disabled adult female,” according to a press release issued earlier this year by the prosecutor’s office.

Sundin is suspected to have entered the facility through an unlocked door.

DNA results of tests on evidence were entered into the national CODIS database. The victim died in 2011.
