The woman was asked to get out of the car and gave police permission to search the vehicle, but seemed uneasy, according to the report.
A backpack was found on the floor of the passenger seat and police described it as a “drug backpack” with baggies of white and brown crystal substances and various drug paraphernalia inside.
A powder substance and other drug paraphernalia were also found in the woman’s purse, according to police.
The woman was taken to the police department, where she waived her Miranda rights and admitted the items found included methamphetamine that she had purchased at Parkview Arms apartments for $20.
The powders, weighing 1.7 grams, were field-tested positive for the drug and sent to the lab for formal testing.
The driver, Michelle S. Bryant, of Oxford, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug abuse instruments and taken to the Butler County Jail.
