A Madeira man has been indicted by a Warren County grand jury for an August fatal stabbing in Franklin, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

White, who has been held in the county jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond since the stabbing, was scheduled to be in Franklin Municipal Court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. Because of the direct indictment, that hearing will not happen.

The preliminary hearing in the municipal court was continued twice because a key witness was hospitalized, according to Franklin Municipal Court Judge Rupert Ruppert.

White grabbed a kitchen knife and came toward Nicole Checkawitz, 39, on Aug. 27, while she and Hall were renovating her home on Rooks Lane in Franklin, she said.

Hall stepped between them and tried to stop the argument, according to Checkawitz. White stabbed Hall to death in the kitchen, according to police.
