Sometime between late Friday night and mid-day Saturday, eight cars in the Arbor Pointe Apartments & Townhomes were vandalized — one with what one resident says was a swastika.

In all, four cars were spray painted and four other cars had tires slashed at the apartment complex off Nilles Road, said Fairfield police Officer Doug Day. He said the paint on one of the cars “kind of looked like a swastika.”

Courtney Johnson told Journal-News media partner WCPO that a swastika was spray-painted on her car.

“(My daughter) is actually with her grandparents at the moment because she’s kind of uncomfortable even being at home,” Johnson said.

But nothing appears to be tying this recent random act of vandalism together.

“It’s completely random,” Day said.

This is the second time within two weeks vandalism happened at the Arbor Pointe complex. Day said about 1½ weeks ago seven cars had their tires slashed.

“We tend to see stuff like that when kids get out of school,” Day said.

Day advises residents to take notice of their surroundings.

“Take notice,” he said. “If there’s a large group of kids and if they’re not supposed to be there, then they’re not supposed to be there.”
