Detective: Thieves from local ring target Liberty Center, steal thousands worth of perfume and more

A ring of thieves targeting area stores for items to resell on social media hit the Dillard’s store at Liberty Center last week, making off with at least 30 bottles of expensive perfume with a total value of $3,750, said Butler County Sheriff’s Detective Kim Peters.

A photo of the three female suspects was captured on a security camera and deputies, are asking for help in apprehending the thieves.

“They obviously have lookouts. They know where to enter and where to exit,” Peters said.

The same suspects are believed to have stolen items from Footlocker and other area Dillard’s. In addition, thieves have also been stealing women’s underwear regularly at Victoria’s Secret at Liberty Center.

“It is a ring,” Peters said, adding that the stolen merchandise is being sold on Facebook.

“They put it right out there for people to buy, but tracking them down by their real names is a process,” the detective said.

The three suspects have been observed laving the scene in blue Chrysler and a red SUV.
