Cincinnati police net largest carfentanil, fentanyl drug seizure

Cincinnati police made a major fentanyl and carfentanil arrest, the agency said in a release.

Craig Williams, 37, is jailed as a result of the investigation. He was arrested July 7 in the Westwood area.

During a search of two addresses connected to Williams, police found five pounds of carfentanil, fentanyl, heroin and the opioid U-47700. They also seized $29,000 and two loaded firearms.

Other items were seized associated with mixing and redistributing drugs.

“This is a significant recovery in light of the overdose deaths that continue to plague our community,” said Sgt. Hudson in a release. “To date, this is the largest carfentanil/fentanyl seizure by the Cincinnati Police Department.”

Williams has been indicted for several counts of drug trafficking. He remains in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
