The new jobs will increase by nearly 79 percent the company’s workforce.

TSS Technologies provides custom automation solutions, systems integration and engineering, machining and contract manufacturing to various industries including life sciences, aerospace, automotive and consumer goods, Drapp said.
The company is looking to hire processing engineers, manufacturing engineers and electro-mechanical engineers, as well purchasing agents, he said.
Of the positions the company is looking to add, about 100 to 110 will be hourly positions and the remainder will be salaried engineering positions, Drapp said.
The family-owned and operated company, which has been in business since 1948, opened its West Chester location in 2000, he said.
Automation is a major part of TSS Technologies’ expansion, according to Dennis Ross, director of talent acquisition.
“Automation has really taken off in the United States and we’ve got a very good foothold in that,” Ross said. “Probably 90 percent of our business is return customers … as our larger customers come back to us with bigger projects.”

It also has helped that TSS Technologies recently hired several sales people whose specialty is automation, he said.
“They did a little better than we thought, so things have just kind of shot through the roof here,” Ross said. “Our pipeline is extremely full also, so we’re definitely bottlenecked on the … hiring side and I don’t see that letting up for two years based on what’s going on. I can see us being 500 to 600 people in three to four years.
Drapp said the company is looking to expand into other regions, as well, especially out west to states like California, New Mexico and Arizona, for many reasons, including a large customer base and initial favorable contact with area municipalities
“They seem to be, to this point, friendly places to do business,” he said. “They are very incentivizing.”
Such an expansion would limit the amount of similar efforts in southwest Ohio, Drapp said.
