A new business serving hot, miniature “cake-style” doughnuts is looking to establish a physical location in Butler County.

The Dapper Doughnut’s local franchise is the work of Chad and Emily Allen, of Hamilton, and offers 15 types of mini doughnuts.

Work on the business started back in September but launched March 1 via a food truck, Chad Allen said.

“It’s a good truck-only (business) at this point, so we travel to various locations,” he said.

Doughnuts are served up light, moist and slightly crunchy, custom-designed and decorated and made all-day long in either food trucks or stores to ensure they are served hot and fresh. Toppings are proprietary and each doughnut is custom created in front of customers.

“With our 24 unique toppings and sugars, the combinations of topping is virtually endless,” reads a description on the company’s website.

There isn’t a timeline for a brick-and-mortar location for The Dapper Doughnut and the local franchise is still looking for spots in Butler County that are beneficial, including downtown Hamilton, he said.
