“I picked up photography as a hobby in 2011 and Rachael joined me about four years ago,” Alexander said. “We have been best friends since the first day of kindergarten and photography was a creative outlet and another excuse for us to hang out. Over the last couple years our hobby has become what we know now as Shutter Girls Photography.”
The two friends are hoping to have the studio open by November, but are still photographing outdoors in and around Middletown while renovations continue at the storefront.
The business will offer a wide variety of photography services and eventually personalized photo products. Services will include weddings, families, newborns, head shots, graduating seniors and seasonal mini sessions.
“We both grew up in West Middletown and we have been watching downtown Middletown blossom,” Alexander said. “We were walking past this beautiful space we now get to call our own and we fell in love with the location. We both knew it was the perfect time to jump and follow our dreams of having a studio of our own.”
